Register.com down for days

Anyone know what's happening?

I posted a similar message under Domain Names a few days ago, but no response.

For the last several days when I try to connect to register.com or to my friend's site, which is registered and perhaps hosted through them, I get a network timeout.

Anyone know what's happening?

Does anyone have anything to say in their defense? This seems pretty terrible to me, considering that they are one of the most expensive registrars.

They're up right now (not even 20 minutes after your post)...

Page loads quite quickly via dsl from here too.

Nothing to say in their defense though - I wouldn't touch them with a 39 1/2 foot pole...

Still timing out from my connection.
That's weird. And it's been this way for at least three days now.

Well this is late, ergophobe, considering the time of your last post.... but it comes right up for me, less than a second to full load....

Cones up rapidly for us too from Venezuela with a dial-up modem.

Is it possible that they are blocking your ISP for some reason?

Yes, I agree the problem's at your end - either clear the cache, check toe hosts file for any nasty scumware etc. which might be blocking it, check you haven't got register.com banned by Norton Internet Security, try a different browser, reboot, or blame your ISP.

Must be my isp. None of the others applies. I've tried every computer on our LAN, owned and set up by three different people, and none connect.

We do a huge amount of surfing on this network and have only come across one other site that never connects - Alexa. That's weird.
