Okay, so my sites aren't huge, but if you have a well structured site then you should be able to follow the 3 click rule. The only sites I've seen that have needed site maps are horrendous to navigate in and i usually get hacked off and go elsewhere for my information if there is no search facility

Site maps have many more functions than what you are saying. It is very nice for blind users for starters. Second GG reccomends them over and over again because Gbot likes them.
