i was wondering if i should opt for the R series with a centrino chip or should i go for the p4.
it seems the centrino has less processing power than a p4 and it only gives more battery life.
can anyone guide me here?
thanks sohail

Depends, if you are a power user & need more RAM . Go with the Pentium chip & get a wireless card.
Centrino is still less powerful when it comes to processing as compared to it's Pentium cousins. Thats my experience.

Centrino still means 802.11b for wireless as far as I know. Or has Intel changed that? Does the P4 version you are considering include 802.11g?
If you will be spending a lot of time on batteries, the Centrino would probably be the way to go. For a desktop replacement, the P4 would be great and MAY offer a faster wireless connection - check the specs.
