How many uniques a day does an Alexa 1000 site get?

I know it's not an exact science but more or less...

Ok. Sitea.com is an Alexa 10,000 and you know /heard that they get let's say 50,000 unique visitors a day. Basically with 50,000 uniques you reach that rank.
I know it depends on the toolbar, but eventually it averages out.

In that sense...

I think they would be in the top 200.

you can't really tell. Alexa combines pageviews with uniques to get their rating number.

If you look at the chart, it is very misleading. It uses logs on both axis, and basically the line is fitting the extremes. If you just look at the middle where most of the sites are, you can seen there is little consistency (it's like an elliptical cloud).

By the way what is really scary, I recently learned that Alexa plans to make their data available through Amazon Web Services. It will be spread far and wide and misused all the more.

< It will be spread far and wide and misused all the more.

Makes sense to me. The more it is 'misused' the more 'important' it will become, increasing the incentive for webmasters and site employees to download the alexa toolbar, creating backlinks to alexa.com, making alexa more imporant.... ahhh... the beautiful toolbar cycle.

Yahoo is doing the same thing by letting it be known that they will use toolbar data to learn what pages to spider.
