Received a notice from I guess a new company, XRampSSL dot com. They said I can renew my current SSL certificate for 85.00 each. Seems to good to be true. Has anyone heard about this company before? How reliable and/or compatible are their certs?

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks,

Those cheaper certificates do work.

However, they will not work with all browsers, especially somewhat older ones. Those selling these certs often forget to mention this.

Tried it with the following browsers, and had no problem:

I.E. 6.0
Mozilla 1.5
AOL 9.0
Opera 7.23

Should I try any others? Just curious, why do people still use Netscape Communicator 4.X & I.E. 3.X/4.X. Its less than 2% of our visitors. Should I worry about them? I mean, we have been using Java since 01, so I would assume that these people would already have a problem with the site, or just leave.

Should I worry about these visitors?

I do most of my surfing in NS 7.0. Occasionally I run across a site that only loads a blank page in that browser. So I swithc back to NS 4.7 and usually the page will load properly. I also find that the tools for debugging JavaScript are friendlier in 4.7 than 7.0.

I know several people who prefere the older browsers because they load faster and don't take as many system resources as the new ones.

I tried the SSL with Netscape Comm 4.74, works fine, but Communicator doesn't like java script that much. I was unable to have my menu bar or google adsense to be seen in this browser. I haven't changed the site since 01, but then again, I haven't been to my site in Communicator since the late 90's.

Is there anything I can do in order to make my java script compatible?
