Hello everybody,

I very recently purchased some webspace and didn't realise that the host doesn't provide access to the logs. It does provide some very basic stats - hits per day - but this is clearly not good enough. They say they are upgrading their stats service but I was wondering whether it is possible to generate my own logs. If so, how do I do it?

Sorry if this is a ridiculous question but I am at the bottom of a very steep learning curve....

Cheers

Welcome to Webmasterworld, Drylouvre!

If your hosting company doesn't offer the ability to check your log files, just move on ;-)

There are dozens of hosting companies that provide the best services for less than 10$ per month.

Hi Tombola,

Thanks for the welcome. Ok, I guess I shall have to move then. Does anybody have any opinions on Fasthosts (UK hosting company)?

Cheers

There is a great forum on web hosting: webhostingtalk.com

If there aren't posts already about fasthosts, I'm sure someone will know about them.
