I'm trying to promote a site for a non-profit that is using a user-interface to insert their copy in a text format and it converts to html.

They have inserted page breaks when they felt the copy was too long for a page, so instead of it looking like 1 page, its turned into 5.

Will the spiders crawl it like it's one page or 5?

The url's look like this:
/women/strength/item?item_id=11003
/women/strength/item?item_id=11003&page=2
/women/strength/item?item_id=11003&page=3
and so on.

I'm not only worried about that, but also the depth of the directories and the question marks!

Lesliet, welcome to WebmasterWorld!

Most spiders don't have a problem with "?" nower days. But I'd suggest keeping it below 3 parameters.

sth lik mod_rewrite might also be a solution you could consider.
