Just started using the new verisign seal with flash, which actually looks pretty cool on my site.

But it seems to slow thing down? i looked at the html snipped and it loads from an https page on seal.verisign.com and worse than that, it attempts to write a cookie! Which of course sets off all the 3rd party cookie writing warnings in IE.

So between the <script> tag and the cookie writing, i'm thinking of yanking it. Or at least downloading a local copy and having users use that instead, which might have a better impression.

Anyone else have experiences with this?

We've been using the new seal on our site for a couple of weeks now. I agree - it does look very nice. I haven't noticed any performance problems - it seems to work quite nicely, however - my main test box has security settings set to IE default so most likely why I haven't experienced what you'ved described. Just to see if I could get those errors to pop up, I set my IE security/privacy to the max and went to our secure site where the new verisign seal is located - and I did not receive any sort of error.
