Hi. I have a Netgear MR314 router and have been having nothing but trouble with it. For some reason I cannot connect to the internet when I am connected through it. When I go to network connections and double click the ethernet card I'm using, it shows that I am recieving 0 packets. When I try to repair it, it says that it cannot renew the IP address. I also cannot go to the software for the router. When I type in the default gateway in my web browser it says "Cannot find the search page." or something like that. I was able to set up the router and configure it along with my print server, but I do not know a whole lot about networking. Does anybody have any ideas or know what steps I should take to fix this. I have a SiS900 PCI fast ethernet adapter (onboard) with windows xp home ed.

I've got the same router here and aren't having any problems with it. My router is accepting requests from the LAN on IP 192.168.0.1.

So typing the URL [192.168.0.1...] into my browser shows me the router's configuration page.

If you can't get to this page, try to do a "ping 192.168.0.1" on your windows shell. If you don't get replies here, your PC isn't able to reach the router, which means it's a problem on the PC side (or the cables) and not a problem with the router.

i can connect directly to the cable modem and it works fine. What problems could it be on the pc side then?

I recently discovered that the reset button on the router doesn not work. Also, if I unplug the router and plug it back in, I have connectivity for about 1-2 minutes. After that it stops working.

This seems as if your device is broken then. I'd return it to the shop.
