outlook profile problem

can anyone tell me how to reset the password in outlook i switched user's and when i tried to go back into my mail it says my password is invalid. i can get ino yahoo but my address and saved files are in outlook.

Hey, welcome to the board.

I believe you'll have to switch back to your old user to access your files. Then you can export your .pst file then import it when you switch users.

might be a better way but it works

Katie - do you mean the password to your normal e-mail account? Outlook will ask for that repeatedly if your e-mail server is down. Could that be the case?

Otherwise, go to Tools>Accounts. Depending on your version of Outlook you will see different things, but you should be able to figure it out from there.

thank you for the fast response, i cant switch to my id because it wants a password, and when i put it in it keeps saying invalid, my boyfriend's name is on the same acct but not the same password he had swithced to his mail and now i cant get back into mine. i have sbc yahoo but keep most everything important in outlook..

In Windows XP I believe the Outlook.pst file is hidden by default. Be sure you get that one backed up.
