he's selling his copy of all the legal papers M$ served him with on Ebay [cgi.ebay.com]

I love this kid :) I might have to go buy him dinner or something - he only lives about a mile from me - LOL

Wow, almost makes me wish I had been served legal papers by M$ if that is the kind of $ they are worth!

In real terms what can be the possible value of the documents?

I can just imagine the next step. Getting sued for selling the legal paperwork.

Mack.

Reminds me of the SearchKing thing. Didn't he sell all the communication docs too?

>Getting sued for selling the legal paperwork.

I'm pretty sure he will.

Now ya'll know that once an eBay auction get noticed in the news media, all bids from there on out are usually hoaxes...

You think the current bid of $45,100 is a hoax? ;)

Hehehe good for him, I am glad I donated when he had his Paypal link up.

Something tells me that a competing company might be behind the whole thing to get some PR. This would get shown in dozen of local channels and even a network could pick it up.

Unreal.... so M$ wants to eliminate anything that even sounds similar. I'm not surprized - nor amused. Go Mike go.

Next on eBay - Buy a print out of my paypal donation confirmation for Mike Rowe's defense fund. ;)

The current bid over $100k is from an ebay member since 1998 and 394 positive feedbacks (2 negatives from long ago). Kinda freaky. I think the future is *wanting* to get sued by Fortune500 companies.

15 minutes of fame turning into 15 days. Only on eBay. :)

US $3,000,100.00. My eyes aren't deceiving me, are they? Are there really 7 digits before the decimal point? If true, this is amazing and the kid is set for some time to come if he can collect.

Gotta wonder if it isn't the same bidder amznVibe mentioned.

The bid is back down to about $200,000. But take a look at the bidding history - there have been 15 bid retractions, and a few bids cancelled by the seller.

I agree, once bidding hits the high six figures, most bids tend to be fraudulent. Very few sellers with auctions that high actually get the cash in hand. And once the press gets a hold of it, fraudulent bids seem to increase exponentially.

Now he's cancelled all bids because of fraud and is only allowing pre-approved bidders. The price is all the way back down to $500.

I don't even think he needs to sell that thing to make money now. The most users ever online on his forum was about 4000. That's not bad for a PR0 site :)

I see Mike Rowe as the worm eating boy on the Simpsons - 3G02 - Lisa's Sax
Nelson: Ah, he's the greatest showman since that kid who eats worms!
Kid Who Eats Worms: My 15 minutes of fame are over!

So what dood? - He will have a steady income off that site for a while, Microsoft may as well have just given him $100,000 and save the bad publicity!
15 minutes is more than most of us will have ;)

And it's over, finally, whew. Jumped from $560 to $660 and in the last 30 seconds to $1,037 [offer.ebay.com] as the winning bid.

Very strange auction with a very strange finish.
