Hi,

I recently purchase a new keyword domain just to try and pick up a little type in traffic. I do not intend to submit the domain to any search engines or have any links from other pages pointing to it.

My hosting company allocates the same domain space as my original domain name. I used the control panel to redirect the site to www.mysite.com, however when i go to the keyword domain the address bars still displays the keyword domain.

As both domains use the same web space what should i do with regards to redirecting?

My hosting company seems to use meta redirects. Is it possible to setup a 301 redirect when both domain names use the same directory?

I would also like to be able to monitor traffic coming from the new keyword domain, will redirects effect my logs?

Sorry if this confusing!

Thanks

Scott

You want to issue a 301 'permanently moved' redirect/rewrite. If using apache on *nix, check this forum Linux, Unix, and *nix like Operating Systems [webmasterworld.com]

301 redirect for Parking domains on the same IP as a Live site [webmasterworld.com]

*nix is just a wild card that reffers to flavours of unix
