We want to list a bunch of affiliates sites
on one of our pages.

But, at the same time, we do not want to leak our PR.

Is there an easy way to do this?

We thought of javascript or request.redirect on JSP.

The link should be unreadable by Google. So I'd suggest some kind of JS encryption, JAVA or maybe flash. But do you think it's really worth it? As long as these sites are relevant, you could link the directly. Just think of the authorities & hubs theory.... :)

A 301 redirect executed with Java/jsp won't work. Flash and javascript are your best bet.

But as ThomasB said, I wouldn't even bother.

Heck, if I were one of the people working at Google now, I would likely try and find a way to penalize link masking- maybe parsing overly obfuscated javascript and flash.

While it is very clever, it's really just hoarding, and that goes against the very sharing that makes the web so valuable. It is anti-social behaviour, and I recommend against it.

There are also practical considerations. Link checking is a lot more time consuming if you have to do it manually.
