I found this out as I suddenly started recieving hundreds of 'Mail Undeliverable' emails yesterday from servers blocking the spam.
I've temporarily removed the email address from our server to stop them coming in. But I don't know what to do now, as I don't want people thinking that we're doing the spamming.
Any ideas would be much appreciated.
Thanks
Maku
I get very few responses regarding the spam messages sent but when I do I make certain I know who I am communicating with (I speak with some over the phone and others I double check the headers of the emails of the complainants) and explain the situation. I have not as yet had an unreasonable response to my communications.
Additionally most spam reporting is achieved via recording the associated IP address of the originator. This means that it is unlikely your domain name would appear on the majority (however I wont commit to all) of spam senders lists.
I wouldn't worry too much, UCE and UBE are big problems and most admins are aware of the simplicity of spoofing mail_from: and rcpt_to: headers.

Some spamming company is using our email address as the 'From' field in their spam emails.
Hmmmm intresting, I heard sometime ago of some viruses that scoop up email addresses from htm, html, txt, doc files then send it to a remote web site somewhere to be used as a form of sending spam, using the email address found as the FROM address.
Or if someone was infected by the virus it would use all the email addresses found on the computer to send SPAM using its own SMTP engine.
This does not mean you are infected but its very scary!
To think that our email address could be blacklisted because of a virus is really concerning!
