After I upload the new index.html page to the remote server I can see the page in a browser if I type in the direct URL to the page (i.e. [foo.com...] but the OLD index page still displays if I go to [foo.com...]
there are no files on the server that are named index.htm, or default.htm.
When I even rename an image that the the Old index page is using the page still displays with that image.
I cleared out my cache and that didn't help.
I am stumped.
But now I have another problem.
I can view my new index page at
[foo.com...]
but not at
"http://foo.com" Actually the old index still displays there!
where is this old index page come from?
They said something about the server being set as a proxy server and having a cache?
I asked how often the cache was cleared and he couldn't answer me. I requested that he take off the cache for now since I'll be working on the site. He said that taking off the cache feature will take up bandwidth but he went ahead and did it anyway. He said it would take 48 hours to take affect.
I don't quite understand the whole proxy server setup. Can anyone explain a bit?
