I would like to start a newsletter for my website. Do you have any recommendations for a good starter newsletter management system. I would like to have newsletter archives on my website and have a system for automatically collecting email addresses and adding them to the list.

For just collecting email addresses and also for managing the sendout of your newsletter, you find a low cost (free) solution at bignosebird dot com . It is simple CGI and works OK.
Regarding the archives, you just have to paste the content into a HTML page and put it onto your site.

If you want to manage a bigger subscription list, there are better systemsa round (free and paid) with autoresponders and other bells & whistles. (haven't tried any of these, so I cannot comment more on them).
