My little site is getting bigger and I am building a site map. Yeah it's a simple process, but if anyone has ideas that helped them while making theirs, I would like to hear them.

I would take a look at what some of the largest companies on the web do, e.g. do a search for 'site map'.
Split your site map into sections like corporate, products, brands, etc. Also, try not to have more than 100 links per page.

And remember: The hierarchy of your site map does not need to be the same as your directory structure. I just reorganized a 100+ pages website and moved the majority of the pages one or two levels nearer to root, but the site map is still basically the same.
