I have read various comments which suggest Search Engines pay attention to the IP address of a site. My web hosting package assigns each one of my websites a static IP address, but naturally this is within a fairly tight allocation (some of them are only 1 number apart). My question is:
Would a search engine recognise a relationship between my sites? If yes, am I in danger of being IP blocked by google (and others) if one of my clients decides to adopt an unsavoury approach to marketing, and finally (i promise) should this affect my approach to inter-linking between them (i.e. is it a waste of time?)

Hope this makes sense,

MC.

Possibly.

Mmm... I'll tentatively say probably not, in current SE conditions. Who knows - that could change tomorrrow, though.

should this affect my approach to inter-linking between them (i.e. is it a waste of time?)

Your approach to inter-linking should have nothing to do with IP addresses, and everything to do with ON TOPIC CONTENT.
