Where to look if I want to buy some sites?

Any suggestions/recommendations of brokers/sites?

I've been through the normal Google search looking for brokers and similar keywords and the sites I have found tend to list either new, undeveloped sites... or have a very small collection of sites for sale. I also had a look at some webmaster forums that allow members to post sites for sale. I haven't ventured into ebay because of the time waste element in browsing through millions of cookie cutter sites.

I do recall reading here a long time ago a thread where one or two brokers were mentioned. Can anybody help either via sticky or in this thread?

(This is not a request for what to buy, what to avoid and how to evaluate sites for sale. I'm simply looking for websites for sale and want to know some of the best broker type places to look in)

Thanks.

I know that you can find sites for sale on e-bay. I have never bought one through their but I have seen a few their.

Hi Macro,

I have a buddy who bought a couple sites not long ago. He basically searched through the listings in the area he was interested in and looked for sites that hadn't been updated for a year+. Some of the people he contacted didn't answer their email, but a couple responded and said they didn't have time to update them so they'd be willing to sell. He got them very cheaply (one free) because the owners didn't want to pay the hosting bills any more, but hadn't been thinking, "How much can I get for this?"

I don't know if that would work in your category, but you'll always get a better deal from the person who just wants to clean out the house vs. the one who wants to make a bundle off his old junk on ebay.

Thanks guys. Anybody else?

I'm looking specifically for sites that list a lot of websites for sale i.e. website broker sites.

sedo! That's one I was looking for. Thanks. I had checked it out some time ago after someone here made mention of it ... but couldn't remember the URL!

Any other suggestions are welcome too. For now I'm off to browse through some sites to buy myself a Christmas present :-)

Cheers richardb
