I am currently designing and building an asp.net e-commerce site to distribute and sell computer software products - some of which are 'bundles' of two other products provided at a saving...

searches show bundle to be pretty well understood worldwide - but i wanted to check with you guys as to what you would suggest...i dont want to be using the term bundle if a bundle is a slang term for a smelly sock in australia or the US... :P

any thoughts? im seriously pushed to find a better term...

nothing against your suggestion, but 'bargin pack' suggestes a multi pack of sealable food containers - not a professional suite of software tools (actually only two - so not really a suite )

basically - does anyone who reads this not know exactly what a 'Bundle' is in software terms?

Thanks for the help :)

Matrox uses "collection" to describe products like their RT.X100. As do Adobe.

Microsoft uses "Suite"

From my experience in the computer industry my guess is that everyone knows "bundle" ...but it's very 1990s. Kinda like what vendors of beige PC boxes used to distinguish their product from other beige boxes. Doesn't inspire the Americans to click I'm afraid. You may find "mega packs" sells you more product in the US :-)

I second that.

Suite is usually used for individual products that are integrated together and can be bought together.

well - to help you guys help me...

the 'bundles' - will consist of two products each (but in the future packs of three pieces of software will also be added) - one 'bundle' is about $50, the other about $125 - one aimed at home users, the other aimed at professional digital image users.

one is a compresser, one is our software, which comes in two versions, hoem and pro - we dont produce the compresser, we resell it as a products, or bundle it)

i personally think maybe suite is the most professional, classy term - but would the above products be ok defined as a suite?

thanks guys - this is a huge help,

Even if it is very '90s, bundle is still used in the UK.

well - Lavasoft - who have sold hundreds of thousands of copies of Ad-Aware and other products - uses Bundle on their site, even though the prices are in US dollars (they are a german company)

hmmm
