Hi All

Here's the problem - I connect with ADSL. Dynamic IP. I have a registered Domain name - i have IIS installed. How do i now get the site on the internet so everyone can see it?

What do i do with DNS? what do i configure? Windows 2000 Advanced Server. Is it possible to host more than one site with this method on one IP?

You could use a Dynamic DNS service, I believe there are a few freebies out there, otherwise you'll have to pay for that service. If you find you are going to end up paying, I'd ask my ISP for a static IP address instead. You'll have to pay them as well, so you decide which is easier on your pocketbook and which you would rather have. Personally, I'd go for the static IP. Less headaches in the long run.

How Dynamic DNS works in a nutshell is you run a client program on your server that will send off your IP address to the Dynamic DNS host which will update it's tables. This is the only way folks will find your site since your IP address may possibly be changing quite often depending on your ISPs configuration.

You may also want to read the fine print on your ADSL contract, a lot of ISPs will not allow web serving under these contracts.

You could host your site somewhere else -- there are plenty of hosting companies that are fairly reasonable, and some that are free.

Yes, you could host more than one site on your server. I'm not sure how to do it on 2000 Advanced Server IIS though. Somebody else will have to assist in that area...
