I am wondering if using I frame within an index page nested table could impact on SE ranking or spidering

Further
May I use include php in an I frame - never tried it before?-

thanks

Regards
Henry

Hi Henry...

I dont know what the rest of the guys will say but the site i run has one huge IFRAME going down the middle (for news).

Its ranked usually in the top 5 for most of the outside keywords and ranked no.1 for the top keyworkds i use.

Google (i dont know if this is true) will ONLY spider the static index.htm page, and it will not spider that page inside the IFRAME. If you are going to use an IFRAME for text content which would normally make the bulk of text on your page then you will need to work on the meta tags and make sure your keyword pop up somewhere on the main page and not inside the IFRAMD page.

As for adding php into an IFRAME, ive done it once or twice, but not for anything big, usually headlines and it didnt have any effect on the ranking or PR.

Hello Katie_venra

Sorry I have been away most of the day (it is about 10 pm ET- USA)

You are depicting the exact situation I am in

The I frame will display PHP MySQL news

Many news are done by my chief editor but some are done by linkage to other newspapers I have an agreement with

The I frame will allow me to keep users on site rather sending them away

Thanks
