I need to create a presentation for the execs on corporate portals. Information needed includes things like, definition, problem, benefits, challenges, vendors, implemenators, etc.

Any ideas on where I can find this kind of info?
The more I have the better off I am

Thanks,

[answers.google.com...]

Be as specific as possible, then throw $100 bucks at it and you might be surprised at the level of detail you receive.

There is no standard definition for a "corporate portal"; you can be as creative as you like.

Before I left to start-up, I'd sold the execs on the unified idea of a completely integrated Intranet / Extranet / Internet environment; accessible by anybody from anywhere; and presenting information, tools and applications that were applicable to your user attributes (employee, seniority, customer, partner etc.) and also location and security of connection.

So for example; an employee timesheet entry tool could be made available if you were either:

a) logged in as an employee and on the office LAN

or

b) logged in as an employee and using an SSL connection

whereas if you were logged in as an employee but only over the non-encrypted Internet then the timesheet tool would not be available to you.

The opportunities and potential are limitless; the requirements are people with vision; and a board that understand the possibilities and can extend the vision rather than simply say "yes, we'll have that". They need to be saying, "yes, we'll have that AND THEN WE CAN DO THIS...."

Then you'll find yourself 9 months later having got exactly nowhere and decide to leave and start-up ;)
