I'm looking for a source of lat-long coordinates for any Western European countries, ideally free and online - such as a type-in-the-city, output-the-coordinates kind of tool. Has anyone come across such a thing?
Cheers. :)

Thanks - the file at [netgeo.caida.org...] has a few non-US places but most of the others are scripts to analyse other lat long data - I'm looking for a simple lat long database.

Maybe this site will have what you're looking for: Global Gazetteer [calle.com...] You have to click the country, then the starting letter for the city.
I tried Rome and got this: Rome 41N 12E 15 49
A usergroup called gps-europe, [groups.yahoo.com...] pointed me to the site.
