High-traffic site

Need cost-effective solutions

Hi everyone,

I'm relatively new to the world of webmastering, and have visted this site on and off for a few months now; it's really great :) My question is about my website; it's been going for nearly a year and I'm currently with a host that offers 2 gigs of bandwidth each month. I'm expecting to surpass that soon (in a big way - we're really taking off), so I need some cost-effective options. Someone suggested a dedicated server, but I hear that they are expensive. Any suggestions?

2Gig isn't really much by todays standards. You don't need a dedicated host for traffic of that level. I'd recommend looking at some other hosting companies first. Two that come up in discussion a lot here are pair.com - up to 21Gig/mo for shared hosting or datapipe.com - 10Gig.
