I do not mind the way back machine and internet archives caching my sites as I feel that is a useful tool and a great resource to be able to have records about how a site in the public domain has evolved.
But I completely disagree that SE's should be able to cache the pages.
I know there is the robots noarchive tag but that would block, the internet archives etc.
Now I have already added GoogleBot no cache since quite a while back, but many engines such as Gigablast etc want us to add another tag for their bots as well.
What are we supposed to have one different tag for each SE?
This is ridiculous, they are showing outdated pages of my work, on their server etc. without my permission and then want us to add more code to our pages so they stop! Ridiculous.
Is there any internet body I can complain to. I mean instead of having a different tag for each SE it would be much easier to have a tag for cache and then include the SE's you want to be cached by.
Showing outdated caches of my pages which may not include ads - a) makes me look bad b) does not allow me to put my sites stickiness into operation and c) may loose me revenue because they are less likely to click on ads.
But some webmaster's don't like, but I do , Because Googlebot Freshes my page everyday! So I am updated in Google and I can use the "Add your URL" to instantly update my URL in GigaBlast etc
and PS:
You can prevent caching by adding this META tag:
<meta name=robots content=noarchive>
But Vist Thailand you are right on this , there shuld be a META tag for the SE's you want your page to cache.
