Hello
I'm sort of new to the internet business and I was wondering if anyone can give me some advice and guidance.
You see I have a site that basically has information about products and latest electronics. The site has been online for 3 month and i'm barely getting 30 uniqe visitors a month. I want to improve my traffic and not sure what is the best way to do so. Also I would like to know what are some of the things to keep in mind when it comes to Search Engine spiders and how they work with sites.
Any help would be appreciated a lot.
Thanks.

Just pick a forum and start reading. :)

The Library [webmasterworld.com] is a good place to start.

Tell me something is there a point in submitting to Inktomy? I already get spider hits from him on my site and he does 48 hours spider refresh rate, yet he offers the same service for a fee of $30. My other question is what is another effective search engine that you pay for services to get good listing results or positions or whichever one.

Thanks

We have never had to Submit or Pay for our Inclusion or revisiting from a SE. Just get links from other sites that are included in the search engines. That is a good starting place.
Create a list for yourself of the important keywords visitors might type in to find your product. Then take that listing and make sure you have copy on your pages that include these words.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, Raven_X!

Best place to start reading is Brett's post Successful Site in 12 Months with Google Alone [webmasterworld.com]. It takes time and effort to have a successful web site!

Guys I checked my stats for spiders and this is the results i get

5 different robots Hits Bandwidth Last visit
Inktomi Slurp 683 30.84 MB 09 Aug 2003 - 18:23
WISENutbot (Looksmart) 143 6.43 MB 09 Aug 2003 - 19:07
Alexa (IA Archiver) 28 1.27 MB 07 Aug 2003 - 09:40
Fast-Webcrawler (AllTheWeb) 1 51.47 KB 01 Aug 2003 - 11:48
Scooter (AltaVista) 1 57.69 KB 09 Aug 2003 - 19:50

Can anyone explain to me why Inktomi Looksmart and IA Archiver spiders were able to pass the URLS system interlinking with the rest of the pages but Altavista and AlltheWeb cant seem to pass the first page

Thanks guys
