Relocating Scroll Bar

Move the vertical scroll bar from the right side to left

I have used FrontPage to create a framed site. On the left frame (the TOC) I have used JavaScript to create folders for the viewers to get to the location they need to go. When all of the folders are closed, no scroll bar appears (this is good), and as the folders are opened, the scroll bar automatically opens (as programmed).

The problem is that the scroll bar appears on the right side of the frame and I would like it on the left side and also made a bit narrower. Is this possible and how would I complete this task.

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to WebmasterWorld, grizzz_man!

Unfortunately it is not possible to change the location or shape/size of the standard browser scroll-bar.

However, it is possible to use some dHTML to achieve scrolling in a layer and position this where you would like. This leads into a huge usability problem area - people expect the scrollbar on the right!

Thanks for this information. As for the usability issue - - there is none as the users will be seeing a totally new and re-designed site and if the bar was on the left, they would just think that it was an "added feature". The right frame still has it's scroll bar on the right (I am basically trying to loose the "framing" between the two frames.
