Having problems with email in Outlook on XP. The PC is on a network and has the DSL modem connected to it, all the other PC's on the network have no problem with email.

The main PC checks email fine it appears, but when you try to send email, you get the error “modem not configured properly or in use by others”. But then sometimes it will send an email?!

Anyone had experience of a problem like this, any ideas on a solution.

If I understand, the dsl modem is connected to the PC. I would connect the DSL modem to the router.

There is no router, just the pc's and a hub. Internet sharing and all that works fine, just this one PC with email problems.
