I'm looking for a way to be able to test my page in both IE 5 and 6 on the same computer... I've been searching around for a little bit but to no avail. I currently have IE 6 on my comp, any help would be appreciated, thank you.

VMWare allows you to create virtual machines - you can create a 2nd minimal install of windows and install IE5 on it. It's not shareware though.

Watch out for IE5.5 because that has a few differences from 5 and 6.

As far as I know, multiple versions of IE can't co-exist under the same operating system (after all, Microsoft claims it is part of the OS).

Two possible approaches:

  • dual booting -- install Window twice and boot to one or the other. Not much fun, and slow.
  • virtual operating system -- install windows twice (plus the virtual OS) and run them all at once. Much more fun, but needs memory. Google for "Virtual pc" and "Virtual windows" for choices.

Another ugly way to do it is to have installed v6 right after v5. Then, when you want to see v5, do the uninstall which will ask if you want to go back to the last install. You'll be constantly installing and uninstalling your browser though.
