Before Search Engine Watch [http://www.searchenginewatch.com] changed its design, I was a regular surfer. Made it a point to visit that site 3-5 times a day to read their wonderful news. I find the news great even now, but with the new design (all cluttered with banners), its a pain to visit the site even 2 times a month. Design makes such a huge difference.

I got regular in Webmasterworld some months back and I really love the environment here. Everyone is friendly, almost none of the queries go unanswered, threads are long and interesting, huge number of active members, no damn pops and banners, and lastly there are great moderators and admins here :)

P.S - I am not sure if this is the correct board to post. If not, please let me know.

Just to make sure your post is not one of the few unanswered :)

P.S.: Guess it would have been better placed und WebmasterWorld Community Center.

Hi Sinner,

Thanks for your suggestion. Could I ask an admin or moderator to move this post to its appropriate board?

Actually, the title of this thread says "Search Engine Watch," so we could just stick with that as the topic, as implied.

It seems to be emphasizing whether or not Search Engine Watch's new design is user friendly and encourages return visitors; the Community Center forum is about issues directly pertaining to WebmasterWorld, so it doesn't quite seem that it would be quite relevant to this discussion, which as the title implies, is about Search Engine Watch.

Guess Marcia's right, I hadn't seen the topic that way.

I haven't been to searchenginewatch for quite a while and just discovered the new design. Quite a change indeed. Not sure how I should define it. Colourful? IMO too many colours and moving things, the real content kind of disappears.

there was a nice thread on the redesign back in April. Danny Sullivan even chimed in.
