I have a stable web site which is doing pretty much the same as it was last year in the search engines. With the good whether and Wimbledon, is anyone noticing a downturn in traffic this week?

I wouldnt really know, my host has been playing silly buggers again!

They updated their stats package that they provide for free, so now I get a few little extras for my stats ;)

It would have been ok, except that when they were doing the upgrade they found a security problem and the stats were offline for 7 days, no stats for that amount of time has made this month look crap stats wise :(

Mike,

To answer your question, I just checked and my traffic was slightly down on Monday but up 15% yesterday. Seems to be on course today as well. I do agree though - sometimes bright sunny weather can have an effect.

Don't forget that a lot of students either have exams (is it possible they could be studying, not surfing?) or have finished for the year and are therefore away from their campus online access.

I would mind betting that explains some drop in overall traffic - something that will continue through to August / September. I know my own site, content heavy and geared toward an academic interest, definitely nosedives in traffic over the summer vacation period. A big dip in the graph!

Very quiet for me this week traffic wise, the sales have been there though, so the ££'s look o.k
