My company will probably get the funding to allow me to take CIW classes - I would prefer online since driving and sitting with someone else's schedule is overwhelming with work.

Does anyone have any suggestions for a good program? I've done some searching, and there are some variations in exactly what classes as far as specialties like administrator or developer or general.

I definitely need some database work.

Hope this makes sense.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Well, now that i have searched to figure out exactly what CIW classes are I am guessing at "Certified Internet Webmaster". Interesting I had never heard the term before.

That's a difficult question. For the most part, I am self taught as I imagine many others here are. I did take classical programming but all of the languages I use daily I learned later.

I guess I won't be any help as far as recommendations of specific schools go. The way I would go about it would be to go to some of the authority sites for the languages in question and see what they have to offer.

I know that for mysql and php there are training sessions run all over the world with local users groups.
ie.
order.mysql.com/?sub=pg&pg_no=5
and php.net lists events/training on their main page

Most of these things can be learned with some o'reilly books and a WebmasterWorld login.

Sorry, heini and jatar_k - yes, CIW is Certified Internet Webmaster - and it will help with some gov't contracts we're looking at. I've found some good info - and jatar - the php info will definitely be helpful.

thanks,
