Hi Guys

I know this isnt strictly webmaster business but i'm sure being people in the know about the net you would be able to help.

I am thinking of getting broadband (possibly a dialup when u first turn on your pc style) and i am interested in sharing it between two pcs. I already have experience with setting up a LAN network but i am wondering if there is a way to have BB not connected to either pc therefore not needing one on for the other to use it.

Does anyone have any suggestions

THANKS!

Hey eggy_ricardo,

Sure, just pick up one of the many cable/dsl router boxes available in whichever flavor you prefer, wired or wireless. This serves as your connection to the net with no need to go through another machine.

Most of the major brands are fully-featured and priced right.

IMO, wireless routers are more affordable than ever. I'm pretty sure you can fix yourself up nicely for under $200.00 (US).

Take some time to visit your local computer shop or big-box retailer, the selection of wireless products is growing substantially.

Good Luck.

By the way make sure you install a good software firewall on each PC as well.
