Page disorienting

Dear Fellow Webmasters:

One of the sites I recently created is posing a strange problem. I am using front page to create the site. I initially created the pages on "My Desktop" If I try to move the pages to another folder it completely disorients the image sizes. I even tried to copy and paste, that did not work either.

Because of this problem my desktop looks like a bulletin board and I am not able to make backups (except on the server) because the pages look disoriented.

Any tips on how to resolve this issue will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,
nj

Hi omkar - welcome to WebmasterWorld.

Do you mean the dimensions of the images are getting changed and the images are the wrong size? Have you just created a bunch of pages or did you actually create a frontpage web? You should be able to move the web or even just the pages anywhere.

When you look at the html do you actually see dimension parameters for each <img src=> tag?

Its so long since I used Frontpage that I have forgotten the "finer" points of using it.

But its sounds as if you may have different sized screen resolution in FrontPage and on your desktop. Try checking that they are the same, and if not alter Frontpage to be the same resolution.

Thanks guys for the tips.

I am not sure what you mean by "just creating a bunch of pages". This is only the third website I have created and none of the others have given this problem. Yes I do see the dimension parameters.

I checked the screen resolution is the same. As far as I know FrontPage uses your desktop's default resolution.

One more thing I noticed that as soon as I move the files back to the desktop the images restore to the original size. Isn't this a strange thing?

Or maybe I am doing something wrong.
