How Do I Collect and Manage Email Addresses?

Need to automate!

Hello,

I use MS FrontPage. I’ve built an opt-in form. When someone enters an email address (and other data) I get sent an email. I copy the address (and other data) into ACT. I then send them a welcome/special discount email. (But first I have to check my ACT database to see if they have previously opted-in and are trying to scam a second discount.) When sending out newsletters I export from ACT to a .txt file. Then I import .txt file into email blast application.

The daily volume of opt-ins has increased to where I need to automate some or most of the above-described process.

I’m not a programmer, so a shrink-wrapped or hosted solution seems preferable. But I’m not sure.

Can anyone help me get into the 21st century?

Thank you!

If you're using FP why not write the opt-ins into a database and have a result page (with 'date added' criteria) to get the addresses to send a welcome note to...FP has templates for that

I have a similar problem, but, I do not use FP. I prefer a moderately priced shrinkwrap solution OR shareware/freeware written in PERL. Anyone have any experience? There seem to be literally hundreds of packages out there. I want a simple one that provides for "Opt-Out" E-mail campaigns and autohandling of bounces.

Another capability that I need is software that can parse .txt & html files; and harvest email addresses with some simple filtering. Again, a moderately priced shrinkwrapped or shareware/freeware solution is preferred.
