Just had an adult site show up in my referrer log with what looks like an affiliate tracking URL.

Something like:

My guess is that it is not adultwidgets.com that is directly responsible but some affiliate of theirs that has done the spamming.

10 out of 10 for creativity though. Has this been going on for some time?

I have been getting this with hosting companies in my logs. Some affiliate decides to write a bot to spam the logs. I found it amusing. I never banned or blocked them because they have been one off hits.

There have been days where we get hit here with 100+ referral drops like that. There are a group of webmasters that change their default referrer in their browser to their fav link.

I got this for an Amazon affiliate myself. It took Amazon 2 weeks to get back to my complaint about it, so it did not seem to be that high a priority for them.
