PCWorld has a brief report about scammers datamining job seekers and job seeker websites for personal information in order to steal your identity, and or resell your personal information to others.

Saw it here [pcworld.com].

This has been a major problem for some time. I know in most industries companies will sign up to competitors sites to see the companies emails and levels of services they offer.

Yeh its a common problem.

I read a privacy report that said Monster developed a bot a few years back to lift CVs from other sites and add them to their own DB. That includes personal homepage type CVs.

There´s also an issue with agencies grilling candidates about other jobs they applied for or for references, only to go on and pitch the companies in question.

Also, some agencies would even pitch your current employer about your current job if you contact them about other positions.

IMHO the fine line between scammers and the less-ethical legit companies was erased a long time ago.

Thanks for the heads up on the article though - I know a few sites that this could help out the users.
