Statistics

I've been working on a letter to send to prospective clients and would like to include some statistics about the number of businesses on the web, number of people surfing the web, etc. I haven't been able to find too much, for either stat. I saw netcraft says there is 40+ million websites, but how do you know how many are businesses?

Has anyone done something similar, was it worth including or did it not help in attracting new clients?
