Hello!

I'm new to the webhosting world and haven't found much info in the way of billing software. Presently I'm using a home cooked combo of Access and Outlook to keep track of clients and send invoices. Can anyone recommend software that handles this? I'd like to be able to bill automatically for starters. (Open source is welcomed)

Thank you for the advice!

Welcome to webmasterworld, IPFreely! (did you know that is a classic middle school joke, btw?)

Perhaps another member has experience with some custom billing software, for myself, I've taken a liking to quickbooks, which does the job.

Open source though...anyone?

hello and thanks for the welcome - as for the name i've just watched too many simpsons episodes ;) . i've been doing research on quickbooks and after reading dozens of bad reviews on amazon, cnet, etc.. and the way they treat their customers i'm a bit apprehensive of dealing with intuit. i even read reports that it installs known spyware along with the program- that's just terrible! anyway anyone know some alternatives?

thank you

You can check out mordenbill, perlbill...etc In addition to these, there are many other web based and pc based invoicing software/scripts available in the market. If you are wanting something PC Based, I would recommend Maximzer, but keeing your business in mind, something web based might be more suitable.

Hope this helps.

excellent! - thanks for the names. i'm checking them out now. the more i read about this the more i prefer to have a program to either run on my home system, or on my server. i've read a bunch of horror stories of web billing software companies going out of business. yes i know that's paranoid but a webmaster probably should be a little over protective ;)

would anyone care to share what they use or do not recommend using -

thanks again!
