How on earth did this happen?

This may be a newbie question but I don't see how this is possible.

I just discovered that one of my domain names which works fine when typed as http: //mydomain.com/ is pointing to a different site altogether when typed in with a www in front like this: http: //www.mydomain.com/.

How is this happening? I have three other sites hosted on the same server and they all work just fine either way. With or without the WWW.

I find this very troublesome to say the least.

The company that hosts your site didn't set your site up quite right. They can fix it in no time... once you get through to them.
