First, I created an html file in Dreamweaver (using a couple of gifs, some font tags, and a simple table), inserted it into an Outlook Express 6 Email message, and voila, it's there, no problem.
However, when the file is received in the client's Microsoft Entourage, the table structure is gone, leaving only the <font> tag formatting and the gifs. The message looks fine when I send it to myself.
Is there something more I need to add to the HTML to ensure that the formatting stays intact? Or is this likely an Entourage exclusive problem?
Hotmail, for example, has a particular way of overwriting all the styles included in emails with their own style sheet. There isn't which can be done about this (apart from giving every element a class - which is just annoying).
The bottom line is that, yes, it is probably an Entourage problem. Although I have no experience with that product myself...
My mails look great in Outlook and a few other email clients. But when I view them in Hotmail - whoa - all my styles have disappeared.
How do people get around this? Do they really embed the styles right there in each tag?
Hotmail obviously represents a significant percentage of any subscriber list, so I'd like them to see the emails as they were intended!
