Spam with popular domain names

I have been receving quite a bit of spam with popular domain names (ie, amazon.com, bn.com, etc) I know there are not from the company but curious as to how it is done and what recall there is

There is no verification on the sender address - the sender simply sets it in the same way they they set the subject line, content etc.

What recourse? spamcop.net the message which will flag any relays and figure out who is really to blame/send them a form letter.

Plus if they are using affliate links to non-spam sites report them :) most of those guys are more than happy to can a spammy affliate and take their % for themselves.
