IE 6.0 Service Pack

I can not upgrade after reinstallation

I had to reinstall Windows Millennium (it seemed that the command.com file was not reachable..).

The reinstallation preserved all the registry keys etc. Everything was about the same except IE. The installation overwrited the upgraded version of IE. Now I have IE 5.5.

I tried to upgrade to IE 6.0 using the automated windows upgrade service( Service pack).

I downloaded the IE 6.0 Service Pack Installer.

Unfortunately it is not finish the installation. At every boot the program try to finish the IE 6.0 installation, but no way...

I can delete the automatic execution of these tempts, but I would like IE 6.0 fully restored.

Do you have any suggestions?

No surprises there then ;)

My advice: ditch winME (for absolutely any other OS) or it will be a constant source of problems. Win ME is extremely poor.
