Internet marketing through IP!

Has anyone seen this

I got a message through MSN. and it came from this site

w-w.ipexplosion.com

and this is what is says

Send Your message directly to the Desktops which are connected to the internet. 
Your message will apppear on top of all windows, even on top of Internet Explorer.
Our Technology is based on Messenger Service which is a built in feature of Microsoft Windows 2000 and XP.
IP Explosion software comes with built in IP Ranges database and you can add new IP ranges.

What do you say about this?

You really can't describe this as 'internet marketing'. It's a form of spam which relies on the windows messenger service that was intended for sys admins to send desktop messages. It's been a round for a while now. Where it really falls down is that no-one uses the windows messenger service anymore and so as soon as anyone gets these types of irritating ads, they turn off the service and no more ads can appear. Any halfway secure machine will already have disabled this capability, because it relies on using Netbios ports.

You got a spam email trying to sell you spam software. Please ignore it for all our sakes ;)

I've seen these messages on a couple of NT machines. It really is the school of logic that says if you annoy enough people, one of them will buy something...

On xp you get hit quite hard with these anoying adverts if you disable the firewall. On reading this message I disabled it. 3 ads within the past few mins. Ads are pretty pointless to the advertiser because it rellys on the end user actualy typing the address in the address bar of their browser. To be honest I would simply call this automated hacking.

Firewall back on, adverts gone.
