I'm thinking of adding a buyers guide to a site of mine. I had planned to do this with a regular directory script and charge annually like Yahoo.

Then I started looking around and there are PPC scripts that allow for categorization, like a directory, so now I'm wondering what the best choice is. The 3 things that I most concerned with are:

1) I need this to be as automated as possible.
2) Which stands to bring in more $$$?
3) The legitimacy of PPC on smaller sites. It's probably just me, but I always think sleazy things when I see PPC on smaller sites.

Anyone have experience or opinions on this?

thats the first thing that went through my mind.

I say stick to annual type directory listing, and then at a later stage possibly look at PPC for some form of enhanced/premium listing.

weird that we think that way when it's all over the place now.

I do wonder though, if it may be more automated than the annual listing route. I guess not since I'd have to review all listings by keyword...
