Just got a domain name.
I have a static IP number.
I have a running Apache server.
I have a website sitting in my /var/www/html/etc...
What do I have to do now to be able to host/serve my own website to the world?
Something to do with name servers I think (?)
If this is a website you need to count on I strongly urge you to host it elsewhere and learn with something that you can afford to have down. Down not because of something you did per se but something you may not do - like block out the hackers or button up your mail server. Sure as the sun will rise, your webserver will be found and someone will try to exploit it. And unless you're better at them at finding and blocking the holes, they will take advantage of you.
I don't mean to be a naysayer and to poopoo the idea of learning by doing but I've said this several times on this Board, running your own webserver takes a lot more effort than some folks think and unless you're willing to expend the time and energy to do it - it's best you let someone who does it for a living do it for you.
But if this is a for fun/learning project then you will get an education. Have fun and read, read, read. :)
