Has anybody used SiteServer.Net for hosting?

Hi,

I just received an offer from SiteServer to transfer my domain to their hosting service. Does anybody here have any experience (positive or negative) with them?

Their prices appear to be good for a moderate sized site; however, I can find little previous "history" with the hosting service.

TIA

William

Welcome to Webmaster World MrVelvet!

I would never got with a hosting company who made an offer to you. Don't do it, waste of time and money -- who knows you may never had any PR again ;) or your emails will start bouncing because other people make loud offers.

Id stick the offer in a trash can and go with someone you find. Read the fine print too, because some of these companies take ownership of your domain name without you knowing it and hijack your sites making you pay huge cancelation or moving fees. Contracts and such.. Id stick with geocities before going with a soliciated offer :P

Never heard of the company either :) But for reference when choosing a host check out google to find what others are saying on one of the hosting boards.

Always remember the Boulder Pledge:

"Under no circumstances will I ever purchase anything offered to me as the result of an unsolicited e-mail message. Nor will I forward chain letters, petitions, mass mailings, or virus warnings to large numbers of others. This is my contribution to the survival of the online community."
