Puchasing opt in email lists

Hi,

I have been asked to research purchasing opt in email lists.

Can anyone tell me what to consider when purchasing a list and where is the best place to look. So far I have only found resellers of lists.

On the Google directory, do a general search for your industry. Look for publications, associations, information about; you will start to run into the online versions of magazines related to your industry.

Then visit these. Check their "About" page, or "media" page, or "advertise here" page... you get the picture.

Ususally they have a newsletter, banner ad rates, contact information, and sometimes they rent out their newsletter email list, etc. Newsletters make for some of the most targetted advertising. Some folks rent it out. Some folks only sell advertising.
