Hi All,

Have been looking at traffic to one of my sites for the month (an online computer product store). Noticed a significant drop in traffic between the first week (3/2 - 3/8) and the second week (3/9 - 3/15). My Google hits were down over 30%. Oddly, the site PR remains the same as it has been for months and the number of pages indexed by Google actually increased between the first and second weeks of the month.

Curious how others are doing traffic wise.

Same here. Updated 30+ pages since the Google dance finished, all the new pages are showing up in MSN, none showing in Google.

Good Point Dazz.

I image we'll see quite a decline in traffic in the coming weeks.

I have an editorial "content site" about European travel that's supported mostly by affiliate sales. Traffic yesterday was down 16-17% from the previous two Mondays, and today (Tuesday) is also looking a bit slow. I'm guessing the impending war is one reason for my modest drop in traffic, but another reason may be the number of U.S. colleges and universities that are having spring break.

Affiliate sales are still strong--down a little, maybe, but noticeably higher than in February.

I certainly can't blame any traffic drop on Google, which continues to provide about the same percentage of my referrals as usual.

Hi - I can't seem to create new topic!

I am seeing click throughs on all results from www.google.com e.g do a search on any term and href on tile says something like:

href="/url?sa=U&start=2&q=http://www.anydomain.com/&e=747

Can anyone else confirm this?

Hi,

No change here -- in fact a tiny rise. My subject is not a million miles away from my username. Maybe people are still needing to chill out.

Likewise MeditationMan, my hits are slightly up. And likewise, my site theme is akin to my username.

Traffic is pretty close to unchanged from last month, but they should be up given my improvements in the SERPs.

The daily numbers are behaving totally different than in the past though. Yesterday the numbers where fairly normal for a Monday till about 2 hours before the shrub gave his speech and everything just about stopped.

Today is down around 15% from normal.

My traffic is up about 70% since the previous Google update. A lot of content as well as incoming links were added between the January and February crawls, and a moderate amount was added just before this past crawl, so I'm curious to see if I'll notice any change after the next update.

Thanks for the input.

For those of you that have seen a decrease in hits/visitors are you attributing it to less overall web traffic (due to economics or the threat of war) or to page rankings changing in the latest Google update?

Thanks again,
Tom

Mental Health related site here so we're actually up this month. The past day or so I saw a very small drop. I expect most of the changes we're all seeing are war related.

Similar situation with two of our travel related sites.

One was running at about 600 unique visitors per day and the other 400 per day, then Tuesday/Wednesday the 600 site dropped to around 400 and the other upped to about 500! Weird.

My traffic is up about 10% this month. No good explaination, but last Google update did help.

Up around 40% - but I've been promoting like crazy. I don't think much of it can be attributed to Google, as the site didn't move a heck of an amount up the SERPs.

Traffic down about 10% this week. Looking at the sector as a whole it also is down by the same so nothing to worry about i hope!

I am worrying plenty! Traffic is slightly lower than usual, but inquiries have completely stopped. I mean zero inquiries in the past two days. Somehow, I don't think it is a coincidence that they stopped coming in after the President made his 48 hour deadline announcement.

People are afraid to invest in a vacation or book flights with the threat of terrorism hanging over their heads. The fact that so many of the big airlines are in serious financial trouble also doesn't help in the least. This doesn't bode well for the travel/vacation industry at all!

Our traffic was on track to be up this month, but over the last couple of days it's definitely slowed down about 20%.

Travel site

Traffic trending up, even continuing over past few days (have done very extensive tweaking past two months).

Bookings? Zilch.
